Understanding the client
We begin with hearing you, to gain an understanding of your industry, business, organisation and culture. Then move on to understand your market positioning, business growth plans and organizational priorities especially relating to people. Thereafter, learn about your business climate as well as the competitive environment. This phase includes interaction with key stakeholders in talent hiring and carrying out our independent market research. Besides obtaining a profile of your company, an elevator pitch is co-developed from a talent hiring perspective.
Qualifying the need
We work closely with you to develop a profile of your ideal candidate: this profile includes not only a job description but also an analysis of the personal characteristics and attributes necessary for success in that role. We interview the hiring managers to make sure we get all the relevant information both on job content and softer aspects. We thereafter co-develop a document called the Talent Requisition Deck which accurately captures the details of the role, KRAs, desired profile, search criteria etc.
Searching potential candidates
Once the need is qualified, we begin the search process by identifying appropriate industries, organizations and locations where we expect to locate individuals with the required skills and experience. Potential candidates are sourced through database consultation, networking, referral and occasionally career advertising. The target candidates are apprised of the opportunity and their interest is evinced. They are then evaluated and assessed for appropriateness and fit. In this phase, we analyse not just the candidate’s qualifications and experience but also the personality and professional goals for the future and assess whether there is a match with your organization and the expectations for the position. Resumes of shortlisted candidates are shared with the client.
Presentation of candidates
Upon hearing from you on the approved shortlist of candidates, meetings with the candidates are arranged either at the client’s office or we can arrange an external venue that is discrete and assures adequate protection of our candidates, until there is a final mutual agreement to take the discussion to closure.
Final negotiations
Once the final candidate has been selected, we are available to assist in negotiations and structuring the final offer – our impartial third-party status allows us to facilitate the negotiation process in this sometimes sensitive area. Once the client’s offer is accepted, we keep in touch with the hire until on-boarding.
